Tissue culture
CleanPheno is Verne Bio's tissue culture program. It takes a cutting from a line you need to keep, runs it through cleanup and recovery, and holds it in culture as tested stock you can return to.
What the program covers
Cleanup of infected genetics
A line that tests positive does not have to be thrown away. Meristem culture and recovery start a new line from a small amount of tissue, and the program grows it on until it tests not detected at each check.
Clean stock
Material held in sealed culture, away from the pests and pathogens of a production room, and tested before it is returned. What comes back to you starts clean.
Biobanking
A living backup of every line, so a crop loss, a contamination event, or a facility move does not mean losing the genetics. The bank is kept tested, and each line has its own record.
Tested by the same lab
Every line in the program is screened on the qPCR panel when it arrives and again at each subculture while it is in the lab. The culture work and the testing happen under one roof, on one record, and you can read that record in the portal.
What to send
The program starts from cuttings. How many, from which plants, and how to pack them is set out in the intake instructions that come with your agreement, and the lab walks you through it before anything ships.
Terms for each line are set out in a written agreement before any material moves.

Tell us how many lines you have and what you are worried about. We will reply with what a program would look like for you. The full description of the program, and how long each stage takes, is on the CleanPheno site.
